Johnnie Winona Ross
Am. b. 1949 
Johnnie Ross was born in St. Louis and received his BFA from Washington University and then his MFA from the University of Illinois.  He moved to Maine in the mid-70's and became a professor of art at the Portland School of Art, eventually chairing the art department at the Maine College of Art. In 1999 he moved to New Mexico where he continues to live and work.  He exhibits in galleries from New York to San Francisco, and his work is in numerous private and public collections including the Portland Museum of Art, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the New Mexico Museum of Art.
