A long time resident of Tenants Harbor, Charles DuBack came to Maine to attend the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He began his career as an artist in New York where he shared an apartment with Alex Katz and Bernard "Blackie" Langlais. More recently, Charlie also wintered near Sarasota and obtained inspiration from the panoply of colors found in Florida's flora and fauna. Charlie's work can be found in numerous public and private collections around the world. We are excited to be able to show this sampling of his work in a number of mediums (collage, watercolor, oil, pastel and silkscreen) and covering the period 1959 to 2009. All of the works are from Charlie's estate.
