OGUNQUIT

I was in Ogunquit yesterday and saw a spectacular performance of "Ain't Too Proud" which told the story of the life and times of the Temptations. The show has ended its run at the Ogunquit Playhouse, but if you have a chance to see it in another city, you should absolutely go. We had a wonderful dinner at the Maine Catch restaurant which is nearby on Shore Road.

We did not have a chance to visit one of our favorite Maine art museums, the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, but we're looking forward to visiting to see their 2026 exhibitions:

Maggie Strater: In Her Own Light, the first exhibition dedicated to the life and work of Margaret (Maggie) Conner Strater (1895–1971), a trained artist active in Ogunquit’s creative community - Now through November 15.

Looking for America brings together Hank Willis Thomas and artists who have worked alongside him, highlighting the power of creative communities - Now through July 19.

American Conversations, an exhibition examining how artists have contributed to the ongoing dialogue surrounding the idea of “America” over the past 125 years - Now through November 15.

Carl Sprinchorn: All the World is a Painting, a major exhibition devoted to an underrecognized voice in American modernism - August 6 through November 15.
