Robert Shetterly lives in Brooksville, Maine and is best known for his portrait series "Americans Who Tell The Truth." After graduating from Harvard in 1969, he moved to Maine and began teaching himself about drawing, printmaking and painting. In reaction to the events of 9/11, he began painting "Americans Who Tell the Truth." Originally intending only to paint 50 portraits, the series now numbers about 200.
