Thomas Connolly

 

A contemporary realist painter, Thomas Connolly graduated from the Maine College of Art in 1987, and in 2013 held the college’s Baie Ste Marie Residency in Nova Scotia. He is known for his careful rendering of architectural details and skillful use of color, favoring scenes of Portland, Maine, and New York City. In his architectural work, his goal is “to make paintings look the way a city feels.” Connolly has exhibited at the Center for Maine Contemporary Art Biennial and the Portland Museum of Art Biennial. He is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and the Sheldon Bergh Award,
