September has been busy at Maine Art Collectors. We have a number of new exciting paintings and prints for sale.
Joel Babb - If you did not see it last Sunday, Joel was the subject of a wonderful review in the Maine Sunday Telegram which noted the recent acquisition by Boston's Museum of Fine Arts of his spectacular painting, Copley Plunge. We are very fortunate to have for sale not only several of his other museum quality large scale paintings, but also a couple of his early smaller works.
Marguerite Robichaux - We just had consigned a very special watercolor by Marguerite. It is a painting of the Carina House that she did while she was a resident at the Monhegan Artists Residency. It comes with a copy of an email she wrote describing the painting. It is the painting shown in this email.
Dahlov Ipcar - A new consignment of a water
color study by Dahlov. Also, if you have not yet made it to the Bates College Museum of Art to see a major exhibition of Dahlov's work, you need to go soon. The exhibition closes in early October.
Neil Welliver - A new consignment of a rare woodcut, Osprey's Nest. To my knowledge, there are no other prints of this woodcut publicly available currently.
Lynne Drexler - We have several new consignments of wonderful works from her estate. We have a couple of abstract watercolors from the 1960's and a couple of smaller prismacolors from her 1990's sketchbook. These are available on our new website that focuses on artists connected to Monhegan Island.
More Monhegan artists - Our new website has new consignments of paintings by Monhegan artists Joseph DeMartini, Murray Hantman and others.
Please let us know if you are interested in any of these works.
